Markel's performing arts insurance program was created to meet the unique needs of the following types of community (volunteer) groups:
- Local theatre companies and comedy troupes
- Local dance troupes
- Musical groups and orchestras
- Non-academic dance, music, performing arts, and theatre schools
- Community theatres
