Markel Rewards Program Terms of Participation


The Markel Rewards Program is an opt-in Producer and Compensation Incentive Program (“Program”) offered by Markel Service, Incorporated (“Company”) for actively licensed producers who in accordance to the state laws and regulations are able to sell, solicit or negotiate Markel Specialty insurance products and have a Producer Agreement in good-standing. Past, future or current policyholders are not eligible to participate directly or indirectly in this Program. When a Producer performs certain activities established during promotional periods the Producer will earn points that are provided a pre-determined point values format. The points will be redeemable for debit or credit card or certificate equal to the cash equivalent at pre-determined point levels. The Producer acknowledges he/she holds a valid producer license in all states where the Producer sells solicits or negotiates the Company products and understands in order to remain eligible; the Producer must maintain all applicable insurance producer licenses. By participating in the Program, Producer agrees to the Markel Rewards Program terms and conditions, which may be amended from time to time. Program Award Points


Producers receive points based on pre-specified criteria during promotional periods as determined solely by the Company and may be changed at any time. The award points criteria may vary among Producers as will the promotional time period. Points will be converted into a cash equivalent and either onto a debit or credit card or certificate provided by the Company’s vendor. Producers are solely responsible for (a) all federal, state, and local sales, use, income, and other taxes (except where prohibited); (b) all other costs incurred in claiming or using any of the points.

 

Promotional Periods


Producers will receive notification of start and end dates for each promotional period either through electronic media or mail. All submissions and bound business types along with terms and conditions will be defined within the promotional advertisement.

 

Understanding the Markel Rewards Program


  1. The Company uses a third party vendor to provide and distribute the debit or credit cards or certificates.
  2. All points rewarded to Producers are subject to verification by the Company, whose decisions are final. In all matters relating to determination of points, interpretation and application of any condition of this Program, the decision of the Company shall be final. No substitutions will be granted.
  3. Producers may not combine points with other Producers, at any time, and are non-transferable; unless upon the request of the agency principal and all producers in that agency understand all individual points will be combined into a single account to be disbursed upon request of the agency principal for that agency.
  4. Producers must accumulate predetermined point levels as determined solely by the Company before any award points can be redeemed. Reward points will be converted as cash equivalent as soon as reasonably possible after receipt of the Producer’s point conversion. In the event any funds are loaded in error, the Company will correct the error and un-load such funds.
  5. Producers whose Producer Agreement is terminated or does not hold a valid license will be dis-enrolled from the Program. Any earned points or unclaimed dollars from points earned will be forfeited.
  6. The Company reserves the right to cancel, amend or revoke the Program or any authorizations at any time due to reasonable business considerations or circumstances beyond the Company’s control.
  7. The Company reserves the right of audit the Producer to determine Program compliance and to remove any Producer from the Program at any time.
  8. The Program is void where prohibited or restricted by law, and is subject to change without notification.
  9. All logos and service marks, as well as the names of products and services of the Program, belong to the Company.
  10. The Company is not responsible for lost or stolen Program cards or certificates.
  11. The address used for transactions associated with the Program will be those that are within your Producer Agreement. It is your responsibility to update your personal identification information including your email address with the Company if it changes.
  12. The Company is committed to safeguarding your privacy. We understand your concerns regarding the privacy of your nonpublic personal information. No nonpublic personal information is required to be collected when you visit our websites; however, this information may be requested in order to provide the products and services described. We do not sell nonpublic personal information to non-affiliated third parties for marketing or other purposes. We only use and share this type of information with non- affiliated third parties for the purposes of administering our insurance programs and other purposes as permitted by law, such as disclosures to insurance regulatory authorities or in response to legal process. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may use this information for the purpose of marketing our own products and services to you.
  13. The vendor links available to you through this web site will allow you to leave the Company’s web site. The Internet sites and the material that you can access there are not under the control of the Company, and the Company makes no representations and disclaim all liability with respect thereto. The links are provided only for your convenience, and their inclusion does not constitute nor imply approval or endorsement by the Company of the sites or their content.
