One of the ways we like to thank our licensed producers for using Markel.



How does Markel Rewards work?


  1. Register today and start earning points.
  2. For every 1,000 points you earn, you’ll receive a $100 Visa e-gift card sent to you via email.
  3. Once you earn a minimum of 1,000 points, you will receive an email from reward@virtualrewardcenter.com allowing you to click a button to instantly redeem your 1,000 points for a $100 Visa e-gift card. Your Visa e-gift card will be available to use immediately after you redeem your points.
  4. Keeping track of your points is easy. We’ll send you a monthly email with your point balance for the activity from that month. You can also email reward@virtualrewardcenter.com anytime for an update on your Rewards balance.
  5. More points = more gift cards.

How to earn points


Points can be earned for various activities. For example: submissions and binders for certain products. You will also earn points on your birthday and on the anniversary of your Markel Rewards enrollment date each year.

  • 100 bonus points for registering for Markel Rewards
  • 100 bonus points on your Markel Rewards registration anniversary
  • 100 bonus points on your birthday
  • 1,000 points = $100 Visa e-gift card for every 1,000 points you earn.
    Gift cards will be sent on a monthly basis via email from reward@virtualrewardcenter.com.

Bonus points


From time to time, we will send Markel Rewards users an email with notification of exclusive promotions that will allow you to earn points on additional product lines or activities. Be on the lookout for those emails: the faster you earn points, the faster you can redeem those points.

Promotional periods


Producers will receive notification of start and end dates for each promotional period either through electronic media or mail. All submissions and bound business types along with terms and conditions will be defined within the promotional advertisement. Please review the terms and conditions regarding the details of Markel Rewards.

  • Frequently asked questions

    I didn't get the email when I got to 1,000 points. Can you resend me the email?

    Of course. Please send an email to rewards@markel.com to request the email be resent to you. The original email would have been sent from reward@virtualrewardcenter.com to the email you used for your mPortal registration. If this needs to be updated, please let us know.

    How do I check to see if I received points for an account I submitted and/or issued?

    Please send an email to rewards@markel.com and include your name, email, and submission or quote number.

    How do I find my point balance or review the account that earned points?

    Monthly emails will be sent that will indicate your point balance and any points that have been added to your Markel Rewards account.

    Do my points expire?

    Yes. Your points expire 1 year from the date they were earned.

    What products can I earn points on?

    Currently, points can be earned for workers compensation and business owners policy submissions and binders. You will receive 5 points per new workers compensation or business owners policy submission, and 25 points per issued account. Please keep an eye on your email for opportunities to earn points on additional product lines.

    Can I get an example of how points would work?

    Of course! Here's an example:

    • Current rewards points - 1,525
    • Rewards points available to redeem - 1,000
    • Redemption value - $100
    • Points needed for next reward - 475
