Vehicle inspections

Vehicle inspections must extend beyond routine oil changes and tire checks. At a minimum, a complete vehicle inspection should be completed annually by a mechanic certified to complete inspections. Caring for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards recommends cleaning all your vehicles inside and out at least weekly. As the vehicle is cleaned, inspect the safety features to ensure they are operating properly. In addition, a daily inspection should include checking windshield wipers, lights, turn-signals, tire pressure and tire treads for defects. If you purchase a used vehicle, don’t assume everything works properly. Have it inspected before you buy it.
