To our customers impacted by recent storms
On June 14th, Markel was awarded “Company of the Year” by the Nevada Independent Insurance Agents (NIIA) at the Annual NIIA Convention in Laughlin, NV. Each year the prestigious award is presented to the top insurance carrier in Nevada through a vote by all 180 NIIA members, based on factors such as; customer service, competitiveness, industry participation and overall satisfaction. There are many insurers in the NV market place and it is a true honor to be awarded Company of the Year.
According to Dan Kennedy, Managing Director of MSC Sales, “This is a company-wide award and speaks to the strong relationship and performance of everyone who deals with agents and insureds in our Henderson, Nevada operation – Sales, UW, Claims, Customer Service, Loss Control and Premium Audit. It’s the first time we’ve won an award like this as Markel Specialty Commercial, and I think it is really exciting to see Markel on the plaque”.
Markel has had a strong presence in Nevada since the establishment of FirstComp operations in Henderson in 2006 to serve the west coast. However, it has taken time to build recognition for the Markel brand as the FirstComp name has generally been stronger throughout the West. The location allows flexible scheduling for Pacific time-zone customer service and is an ideal base of operations for the west.
The Nevada Independent Insurance Agents (NIIA) was formed in 1916 and is an affiliate of The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA), both advocating and promoting the interests of independent insurance agents and brokers The organization has Agency Members statewide representing over 2500 individual insurance agents/brokers, customer service representatives and other miscellaneous employees.
