Markel launches mPortal to make agents’ job easier

March 9, 2017 — Launched on February 25th, Markel agents now have access to a self-service tool that will allow them to track their book of MSC business

Markel Specialty Commercial (MSC) is excited to announce the launch of “mPortal”, the go forward platform for all external customers (both agents and insureds) to access MSC products online.  Launched on February 25th, Markel agents now have access to a self-service tool that will allow them to track their book of MSC business, and provide additional functionality such as;

  • Submit and view account activity in one place
  • Track real-time submission status
  • Access billing and policy documents and forms
  • View policy, claims and billing detail
  • Round out more accounts

Markel agents who currently write workers compensation and business owner policies (about 32,000 users) are already familiar with the portal as the new mPortal design is evolution of the former 1stQuote agent portal developed in 2002.  The portal provided an automated workflow for agents and underwriters giving a competitive advantage, allowing agents to write more workers compensation business faster, by eliminating paper apps, faxing and underwriting wait times.
