District Sales Manager, Alicia Stanley, volunteered to help LaMOM run their annual clinic

As part of the Markel Specialty Commercial (MSC) dental program, a special collaboration has been developed with the Louisiana Dental Association and the Mississippi Dental Associations to support the Louisiana Mission of Mercy (LaMOM).  LaMOM delivers pro-bono dental care to underserved populations of Louisiana through clinics in the region.

Last week, District Sales Manager, Alicia Stanley, volunteered to help LaMOM run their annual clinic in New Orleans along with Markel agents, Stormie Blair and Jennifer Luquette of Brown & Brown.  Hundreds of dentists and surgeons from Louisiana volunteered to provide care for the needy and those who can’t afford care.  The event lasted for two days and served 1360+ patients with a total of $1,067,760 in services donated.

The MSC dental program was launched earlier this year in partnership with Brown & Brown in Louisiana and Mississippi.  It includes a dedicated claims specialist, designated underwriter and special claims handling that includes needle stick testing for injured workers and patients who may  be infected. So far, the program has generated over $100,000 in premium from dentists in Louisiana and Mississippi.
